ASL Pastimes Ltd ‘Chartbuster’ Game ~ 1970

£50.00

ASL Pastimes Ltd ‘Chartbuster’ Game. This board game dating from 1970 introduces the players to the ‘exciting and glamorous world of pop’. You arrive in London (the hub of the ‘pop world’) with £100, and use this money to gain experience and make records (i know £100 probably wouldn’t get you a hotel room for the night nowadays!!). You then travel through the ups & downs of show business whilst trying to reach No.1 in the charts. The first player to sell one million records is the winner of the game!! (yes, in those days you actually had to sell records to get in the charts). Game in generally very good order for it’s age, with clean / undamaged playing board / cards / money & playing pieces (instructions printed to the underside of the lid). There is some slight marks to the playing board in places, but only what you would expect of it’s age & normal sensible wear & tear. Box & inner tray also both sound, with no holes / torn corners / biro scribble or colour fading, although underside is rather compressed inwards incurred during storage, and lid has gathered some slight staining & grubby marks over the years.
