Action Games ~ Grand Slam Football Game ~ Mid 1970’s

£45.00

Description

Action Games ~ Grand Slam Football Game. “The realistic football game” as stated on the box lid. The follow up to TAF 4-2-4, Grand Slam was produced in the mid 1970’s as a direct rival to the Subbuteo Club Edition, with the endorsement of Alan Hardaker (Secretary of the English Football League at the time) no less. In truth, Grand Slam was never as popular as Subbuteo, and sold in far less volume; general quality was not as good, with flimsy players, and a poor foam-like pitch. On the plus side!!, this example is in excellent / unused condition having been in dry storage for the past 40 years. All parts in excellent / undamaged order (balls & dice are still sealed in the original plastic bag), together with unused adhesive player squad number strips / 12 page instructions booklet & period spares price list. Box & inner packaging also in generally very good order, with no holes / torn corners / biro scribble or colour fading (lid slightly distorted with some minor staining to one corner incurred during storage).
